calor gas

For some reason the gas fire in my caravan works fine for half an hour then the flame goes very low virtualy off i have never had this problem before the bottle is full and in a box with a lagging jacket on it for the cold does anyone know the reason for this ?

Butane freezes before propane ,so use propane the red canister most appliances can use both but you need a different regulator

 

 

Not quite true.

 

The Butane does not freeze as you indicate. It does however cease to boil and produce any vapor at 0 Degree C

 

However given the current outside temperatures, you advise regarding the use of Propane in preference to Butane is correct.

Propane will gas better at a lower temp,both will see pressure drops at bellow 4degrees , have used both at low temp,in my army days ,setting up field kitchens,prefered pressurised petrol but was banned in some European countries ,never had freezing problems with them,
