Miroku_Dave
Hello All, Well I’ve done it, I’ve finally got some decent land to shoot on and I’m raring to go! I phoned a friend of a friend of a friend today and asked if I could shoot and he said yes, that was it! i even had to offer to send him my insurance certificate and to clarify what I could shoot. For all of you still hunting for land, keep it up, it comes from the most unexpected sources! :yp: I know how hard it is to get shooting so once I have been here a while and the keeper is happy I will try and get someone out with me. TJ91 took me out on his permission (the bloke is a legend! ) so I will try and do the same. Good luck and keep searching, Dave

figgy
I used to have shooting rights round there years ago, farmers couldnt get enough of you untill the shooting syndicates took off in a big way. Then they would not even let you shoot the flys off the cow ****. So well done. ALB figgy

Miroku_Dave
Nice one , Acres? Quarry? A Its only a small area (probably about 6 or 7 acres) and they have a game shoot in the winter months, its interesting land as it has some open fields, a couple of small woods and also some areas of pine. I went out on Friday morning for an hour just to do a bit of a recce really and got a handful of pigeons and 3 rabbits, 2 of them were riddled with mixy though so weren’t very challenging shots but I thought the best thing to do was to shoot them. There is a river running down one of the boundaries and I saw some trout rising so Im going to find out who has the rights to that so there may even be some free fishing too! I think I have found the best flight line and the best place to shoot from is in the doorway of a disused out building so I have somewhere to shoot from when its chucking it down! it has a bit of everything really! I also saw some highseats on the land (I’m not the only one with permission) so I may even be able to apply for my FAC but I want the keeper to get to know that I’m doing a good job before I bring that up! Im really pleased with the area and I’m still amazed that it was on my doorstep all this time but I just hadn’t spoken to the right person. Hopefully many more happy days out in the future. (PS What is the best way to dispose of rabbits with mixy?) Cheers, Dave
