stubby
I checked them out after reading your post, will only insure you if your 4x4 is modded, so if I was to do the simplest thing, ie fit a snorkel, my insurance would go from £375 (currently paying) to £189 full comp on both

SniperR10
Just got a reply and they wont insure my modified Jeep. They suggested Adrian-Flux but he wanted £680 that is double what i was paying for my imported Supra as a secondd vehicle.
Chris Bb
Have just bought a Defender (slightly modified) and have been to every website offering insurance. Starngely enough, by the time you read all the small print and add on all the hidden extras they all come out at about the same price! So, it's back to NFU who give a straight quote, no hidden extras, and realise that a twenty year old Land Rover is not any old car but does keep a residual value. Other interesting facts discovered: insurance for self plus spouse is cheaper than self only, fully comp can be cheaper than TPF&T, a return rail ticket can be cheaper than a single. Oh, the joys of life in 21st century Britain!
activeviii
yep! frank for me as well. £138 fully comp. you dont need to worry about 'no claims bonus' you need to be a member of a club, it can bean online club im member of pocuk. limited mileage but you can pay extra for more. im on 5k pa needs to be modified for off road type use. wheels, body jacked was all i put. you only need to be named on someone else insurance for it to be a second car which is what i did. you all so have 2gether that use the same insurance underwriters. they wouldn't allow the pajero as to many problems but spoke to frank and he sorted it out. this is a specialist 4x4 insurance for off road users and not chelsea trackers, hence the need for modifications. there thought is that off roader dont worry about dents and scraps as its nature of the beast. so its more for if you run into someone/thing so your covered. i spent a long time last year sorting problems out because of 2gether so i will not use them anymore.
