remmy1100
was out this morning checking permissions out didnt bother with the gear (weather no good for shooting)just the gun shot 15 birds moving around.then about 12.00 got a call from a farmer( i do a bit part time keepering for him) he has a lad he let on shooting. before i met him ask me to keep a eye on him for a while as he had received info he was shooting the ducks from a pond and taking pheasants out of season.well i went down near where he was shooting and watched him for a while ,had plenty shots at birds but couldnt hit a barn door, finally saw him packing up so set off down field to see bag he had ,before i reached him and before he spotted me ,this lad starts throwing dead birds into air and trying to shoot them again it was comical nearly ****** myself watching him finally reached him for a chat had been there 4 hours shot 2 pigeon for 36 shells ...**** me i told the farmer your ducks are safe and so"s the barn door Edited March 19, 2006 by remmy1100

Lord Geordie
I would have been embarrased with the wet stain on my trousers after peeing myself laughing. And i though I was bad with 4 out of 5 hits on clays I remember a story of a lad who asked the farmer to shoot and he said no thanks i have a lad on here already. So the little **** concocted a story about game being shot etc and eventually the lad got the boot for no wrong doing of his own I wonder if there is someone trying to poach a shoot here?? Where in the North you shoot? i have tried countless farms and golf courses to no avail yet Any tips whilst asking please? I even used to work on a farm and it dont really help. I am going for this NPPC in a few weeks but am going to have to try further afield i think LG Edited March 19, 2006 by Lord Geordie

I am going for this NPPC in a few weeks but am going to have to try further afield i think LG hi lg shoot mainly northumberland ,the farmer heard from a freind of a local pub the lad tried to sell him some pheasant he must of drugged them because he couldnt of shot them,,or the died laughing at him trying with regards to permission i have never left a farm without a permission of some sort, when i first started shooting i went with my mate would used to knock full urban combat gear always got knocked back ,so one farm we got knocked back on i visit next day..he definately had a problem with pests put the moleskin trousers on tweed jacket and smile on face knocked the door and quess what full permission on his land ,you only get one chance to make an impression, just like a job interview, so always think that before you try and if you get a knock back remain polite..i had one would said no i thanked him, then started off down drive just for him to shout me back and give me permission .best of luck p.s if i need a hand one day ill give you a shout where in newcastle you from.. Lord Geordie
Arthurs hill? Me? I am in Slatyford right next to what USED to be redewood comp previously known as Slatyford School. Thanks for the offer too bud I am also waiting for a Phone call from an Aunt who's ex husbands brother is a fisheries whatsymabob? And may have a small chance of something from there? I can live in hope B) I did have a shoot in northumberland near Alnwick when i was living in Beadnell but when i moved i lost the shoot as i had no way of getting there often enough and it's not fair on the Farmer not being able to attend and i told him it would be best if someone else came in. Gave someone else a chance of a shoot anyway I always knock smartly dressed (no tie and 3 piece of course ) but smart casual dress. I always thought it may be because there are a lot of people on the city edge asking for permission so i think i really need to go further afield now i have the car. I just dont like treading on other peoples toes Thanks again LG

SAW A COUPLE CARRYING TWIGS OTHER DAY MUST BE NEST BUILDING, sorry just noticed caps on I can't even remember the name of the farm i used to shoot on i just turned up one day and asked the farmers wife and she gave me his number to ring back. When i rang him he asked if i could leave it with him so i did. After about 7 weeks i got a phone call (not expecting it to be him) and he said Fine. Didn't use it much before i had to move back to the City Shame as the shooting wasn't too bad. I do get the odd day (about 1 day every 3 month) on a small 2 to 3 acre bit of Davey Dungates land with my Brother in law but he is a bit of a tool Last time i went with his i loaned him my old Logun S-16 and i was using NV and scouted for him. I set him up with a cracking 30 yarder and when he hit the rabbit he LEPT in the air screaming at the top of his voice (GET IN I GOT IT) Well i just packed the gun straight away as that would have scared all the rabbits from here to the border Needless to say i dont bother going much besides the rabbits are few and far between there. Never been since i got the SGC but thats more because i don't see him often enough to go out there LG
