Breastman
aparently both derbyshire and staffordshire firerams have allowed them on FAC, I dont know how though. The people either have Section 5 authority, have lied about what they have, are getting 'slug' barrels confused with rifled barrels (slug barrels normally just mean they have ghost ring sights as opposed to a rib), or D & S constabulary have allowed someone to commit a serious firearms offence which carries a minimum sentence of 5 years Mark
Newsportshooter
I would imagine its down to certain exeptions and on an individual requirement basis - RFD, Part of a collection, humaine killer etc. A bit like the fact that most of us have an exemption to possess sec 5 ammo (expanding etc) and dont require the authority of the sec of state... but with tighter requirements. I doubt they'll start carte blanch authority

Unless you have slug too it's pointless having a rifled barrel. See here
wildrover77
I spoke to dss rifles they said they were accepted as section 1 for target shotgun. I cant believe they Firearms licensing would make what would seem to be an obvious mistake. Is the definating of a pump action rifle open to interpretion? I have a 12g bolt action shotgun with a rifled barrel on my ticket, I was told had to be classed as a 12g rifle.
