deeksofdoom
I'm considering one of these, resons being is its a cheap entry level .223, its light and its its got a 21 inch barrel. Has anyone had any experience of one of these rifles. It'll be used for lamping foxes and maybe a few rabbits for a bit practice. I just want something functional that will kill foxes and not break the bank with after market adjustments. http://www.czub.cz/en/catalog/81-centerfire-rifles-cz/KL/CZ_527_SYNTHETIC.aspx Edited April 9, 2011 by deeksofdoom
ian_in_the_midlands
Is the barrel threaded? Maybe an issue.

Mark-70
Not in the same league as the .223 but I have a synthetic CZ 452 style and I love it! I was worried the stock may be a bit plastic for my liking but I wanted something for the field that wouldn't show every little Mark especially as out at night it's bound to knocked about a bit. But I was really supprised it has a nice feel to it. No problems with shooting or accuracy either! IMO great rifles for the money!
tikka.223
My mate had a CZ527 .223 1 in 9 twist with laminate stock and it shot extremely well.Have you thought about a Tikka T3 lite? Mr_Logic
My CZ is indeed this model. It is an amazing little rifle. Tbh I suspect I just 'got a good one', but it really does shoot. If I feed it 50 or 52 gr polymer tip, it shoots so accurately I've put target rifles to shame (and indeed my own target rifle). I've done nothing to the trigger save adjust it, and it beats any Tikka, Remington or Howa you care to mention. The only downside to the CZ527 is teh scope - because of the mounts, you have to find a scope to fit it both in terms of bolt lift, and in terms of eye relief. I now have a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x50 which I got very cheap, and it works really really well. Tbh I prefer my Tikka .222 as a rifle, I like the look more and the feel of it. But, the 222 is pretty accurate and works OK, where the CZ is amazingly accurate and stuff just dies. Shots which should be really difficult aren't, and it just keeps hitting. I am sure I will be flamed/doubted/criticised for saying that, but simply put - I KNOW it shouldn't but it does!
sixhills 69
I purchased this rifle a few months ago CZ527 in 223 the dove tails are 16mm not the norm i have had a picatinny rail fitted and that solved the problem and i can take my scope of and drop a night vision on. The gun is light and accurate out to 300yrds with 40gn Hornaday ballistic tips i have a T8 sound mod on it at the moment but i am swapping to a Sparton from 3rd eye tactical as its smaller and lighter, I had a T3 super Varmint before this and if i was to have a choice i would go with the CZ as its a excellent work horse and i am very happy with it. My next purchase will be a synthetic thumbhole stock just to Jazz it up a bit good luck you will not be wasting your money

njc110381
Is that the CZ Varmint Laminate? If so, nice rifle! I found mine a bit on the heavy side for carrying about but it is pretty reasonable as far as Varmint type rifles go. Accurate as you like and the trigger is adjustable in many ways so you can set the pull up to be really sweet. The set feature is a good one too. One thing's for sure, if you miss with it it ain't the gun's fault! Good buy
