If Piriton doesnt work - try clarytin (check with Pharmacist/doctor) one or the other usually works - the liquid piriton may work better than tablets for you. I find alcohol a good nerve number !!!!

Waspeze spray is good for bites and simple to apply or the really old favourite, calamine lotion (turns pink when dry) - downside is frequent application.

Asking a pharmacist does save on waiting times and as its non life threatening even poor advice wont kill you.

Hope one works for you !!

eat yeast tablets mate Vitamin B1 (thiamine chloride), garlic, brewer's yeast and other plant-based chemicals have been reported to repel mosquitoes when taken orally. Some of these materials are marketed in tablet form, and the manufacturers claim that protection from mosquitoes will last up to 24 hours after taking one tablet

the cheap ones contain everything the dear ones do .

as a 19 stone bloke who has been in a short coma threw a single wasp stings trust me when i say the cheap ones work just need more than one .

if im stung by a wasp i take a whole box (25) then a quick jap in the leg of adrenaline if i start to puff up at all .

alcohol in the blood delays and stops the spred of the venim shock aparently , so the doc said at the hospital last time .

the brand doesnt make any differance , so save a couple quid and buy the tesco ones but take double .

p.s. avoid wine , it doesnt mix with them very well .it makes u light headed quick .

If you swell up when you get stung, go and see the doc and get a professional opinion on what can be done, seriosuly. As Zapp said, these things can be/are cumulative and may/could get a lot worse quite quickly. If the doc thinks you need one, he might get you an epipen.

As for antihistamines, I use one of two sorts, generic loratadine or generic ceterazine, and alternate which I take. Mind you, I only take them for slight hayfever when I need to, and this year has, touch wood, been kind to me so far.

Piriton is good, the liquid is faster acting than the tablets, however try benyldryl (spelling?) ist the best cream certainly for the bites and the tabs arent bad too.

I have a nut allergy and i have to keep antis on me, i keep 2x 10ml puriton on me ( clean urine sample bottles are great for this, they dont leak) as i find i cant get tablets down my neck when my throat swells up.

Be carefull when using antihistimes some can cause drowsiness which can be severe.

I own a honey bee farm in lancashire and getting stung is part of the business . When i get stung i always carry a small bottle of neat ammonia and some cotton wool dab on the ammonia and it will neutralise the poison from any sting .but you will smeel like a cat has pxxxed all over you lol . :good:
