mosa
Hello all i am trying to find a set of 30 mm mounts so i can buy a scope for my parker hale 243. I didnt realise the trouble i would have in doing this. My dovetails are 19mm. Has anyone ever had the same problem? got any mounts? or can point me in the right direction thanks!! Dunkield
If they don't see this and reply PM Garyb and/or Stealth Stalker, they have both done this recently. You should be able to get mounts it's just acse of hunting them down There are these, but they might be more than you want to spend. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24137&cat=Rings+30mm Have a look for Sportsmatch? mosa
Cheers chaps, not sure if they would be suitable for centre fire? Not sure.
steve_b_wales
Cheers chaps, not sure if they would be suitable for centre fire? Not sure. I used a set of these mounts on a .223 many years ago. They worked well, although they don't look very good. And for the money asked, it's worth a try. Steve.
bicykillgaz
at that price i'd buy 2 sets they look thin enough to get away with sticking two mounts at one end of the scope and one at the end where you mount your lamp that should hold it. cooter
If you don't get any joy try calling Craig at Third Eye Tactical (numbers on their web site). If they have nothing off the shelf, they will probably sort you something out quickly.
sixhills 69
Might be cheaper and worth while having the dove tails drilled/tapped and havig a blank picatinny rail fitted gives you so much more choice of mounts and you can even drop ona NV easy. garyb
I've replied to your PM.. Which parker hale is it exactly? and is not already tapped for screws?
garyb
Mosa, In reply to your PM and pics It appears that you simply have a dovetail base which has been screwed into the standard PH 1200 action. If I were you, I'd replace the dovetail bases with Leupold bases and rings Here's a post I made on the SD with the part number for the bases I used... http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?8420-Parker-Hale&p=171282#post171282 I think they were like £30 new from Ebay...? or Search online for Bagnall and Kirkwood as they stock the bases and the standard Leupold rings in sizes low to high, as do JJK shooting supplies.
