Dustem Dave
Hi guys,i,m thinking of buying a clay trap for home use,is there a trap that can throw all types (or as many as possible) of targets, including pairs, any recomandations about make,s etc? spiceychilli57
Auto or manual? For manual traps i wouldnt look further than bowman, cant remember which model but they do one with two trays so can throw doubles and a teal clip and angle wedge thing so you can change the angle of throw so change the flight of the clay Bowman manual trp really well built. For automatic and if the budget allows aim for promatic. For the best place most gunshops will stock a type of trap and commonly it is bowman so have a look at one. Or try flebay Spicer

DuncanH
I have no idea how much they cost but I have seen an advert for a Laporte 350 pro trap with a free pallet of clays from Clay Pigeon Company. I checked there website for a price but could not see one.

loafer
We've got a bowman supermatch 1 for practice and it's great with CCI or CPC clays once you get the front switch adjusted to the right position. very very consistent throwing and came with a pretty good trolley. Just be careful to tape/tie/clip the cables up off the floor before you have an 'woops' moment and end up hand trapping the rest of the session. Emmsy
promatic or bowman, both much of a muchness. simple designs but strong and reliable. whats your budget? imo buying a s/h carousel version is by far a better trap than a brand new single stack one. i have a promatic super sporter cast base jobbie up for grabs soon if anyones interested. proper commercial trap with new motor, wiring and pretty much a total strip down, clean and rebuild. not too keen on bidwell traps, always loads of no birds and thats even at bidwells ground and the game fair!
