les gedge
Used to have fox on my HMR but Cleveland took it of 2 years ago and will not allow it now.. must have takan it for a reason - maybe ur land is too flat or u mite av too many guns, after all it is a vermin gun. I can use my 22 if i want to on fox. Maybe you made a bad shot and they think ur dangerous - you didnt say enough to judge. Anyway sorry to hear about it
hawkeye
The reason they will not allow it is for none of the reasons and rubbish you spout about but the fact it is classed as not enough power for fox as per the police guide lines.. I had it on for about 3 years and it was only when kdubya asked for it on his and was refused he mentioned that i had it on that's when they decided to remove at next renewal date. When they first put it on they thought it was a 17 rem CF not HMR.. The trouble is some forces allow it for fox and others don't end off, They don't all sing from the same hymn sheet. And they do not class fox as vermin either...

Luckyshot
west yorkshire its allowed. and yes foxes r vermin if not what r thay game. My issuing force (Durham) don't allow 17 hmr for fox either. This is taken directly from their site. Vermin Control This subject generally refers to the control of certain pests, on farmland and other suitable areas and includes those destructive species mentioned previously as rats, rabbits, grey squirrels. The shooting of foxes is not generally classified as vermin on the conditions of a firearm certificate issued by Durham Constabulary and where appropriate is mentioned separately.
