I HATE PAYPAL

join the club mate - I have had £250 stolen from my account by a robbing bar-steward in an eBay auction. Paid via paypal, he turned up to collect the goods then left. 2 hours later he stopped the payment and told paypal that he never received the goods, so they took the money back off me. Of course, what proof did I have that he came and collected it? none.

They have reasonable buyer protection, but absolutely nowt for sellers whom get ripped off like this day to day.

Lesson learned - if they turn up for it, make sure they pay cash, and STILL get a written, signed receipt...

I heard of other horror stories like that mate! sorry to here it. Im pretty sure i'll use them again! because how else is there to pay for things so quickly. I just think its shocking how long they keep hold of your money getting fat off the interest! Suppose thats business though eh!

They seem to have no body that governs them at all! i have looked for somewhere to complain about several things they have done recently but cant find any one to complain too apart form them! and whats point in that! they will prob just look at email, laugh and delete.

Sounds like a good buisness venture to me.

(sarcasic tones!)

I sent an item to a guy that had paid me by Paypal. He contacted me and claimed that the item was faulty. I told him to send it back and I would give him a refund. Two weeks later, I finally got it back and it was wrecked (I would blame DHL for this, not the buyer).

I contacted the buyer and told him to claim off DHL's insurance for the damaged goods. He wouldn't, he just contacted Paypal and got his money back. I contacted DHL and was told I couldn't claim as their contract was with the sender, not the recipient.

I now have a totally useless item and no money for it. I think Paypal is *****.

Ebay is no better. I had an item bought by a zero-rated bidder. He didn't pay me, despite several polite reminders. I finally contacted him to say either you pay, or I will report you as a non paying bidder. He then left me negative feedback, calling me a lying **** and claiming he paid by cheque and I had cashed it.

I contacted ebay and informed them what was going on. They never even had the decency to reply to my complaint. What a bunch of ******.

Re-PayPal

I am helping a mate who was scammed by a guy in the US and another in Canada. Both took payments never sent the goods and wouldn't reply to emails.

PayPal are hiding behind their 45 day rule; action must be started within 45 days of purchase. Surface mail (large items) can take up to 60 days, so by keeping the purchaser dangling after 45 days - money for nothing! Barclaycard who feed the account don't want to know, PayPal likewise so we have now lodged a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman. I will let you know how it pans out.
