Alpha Mule
At very short notice I'm getting my FEO visit tomorrow lunchtime and I reckon I need a bigger ammo safe (the tiny thing in the top of my Bratton 5 gun must be way too small). I've seen one in Argos and would appreciate it if any of you can let me know if this will pass or not. Currently cacking myself!
foxbuster
Should be fine with that mate-my father in-law uses something very similar. No problem.
Colster
Too small for what? You don't say what you're applying for... but my old 4 gun BSA safe would handle the bolts for both the LR and HMR and still have room for at least 400 rounds of each ammo. Biggest problem I had with it was bashing my knuckles on the edges when getting a bolt out. Unless you're target shooting centrefires and need to hold a few 1000 rounds, I can't see it being a problem. Alpha Mule
I've asked for 500 of .22 & .17 and 150 of 22-250. I doubt they will all fit at once. I'm going co-terminous so will need to store 12g carts too.

I have 600 of each rimfire and 250 for .243 as an allowance but in reality I never hold more than about 60 243 and 200 or so of each of the rimmies. You don't "need" to keep carts locked away. Frenchieboy
That safe looks just about identical to the one that I have! I got mine from Argos on the recomendation of my original FEO! Mine is more than big enough for my ammo and my rilfe bolts and magazines. You do not have to keep shotgun cartridges in a safe!

I'm going co-terminous so will need to store 12g carts too. I keep more than that in my little top-box safe, as well as the bolts and the moderators too (just so I know where they are!). As stated elsewhere the 12g carts stay out.
smig4373
I'm with Frenchie on this 1...Thats exactly the 1 i have..
Dunkield
I have the Argos one too they are fine. My FEO warned me of asking for more ammo (and guns for that matter) than I could legally store, so it is worth having the extra capacity. ajm1979
I store 600 .17hmr & 600 .22lr & 200 22-250 and all three bolts with plenty room in a safe that size. Feo was more than happy.
Alpha Mule
Ah well, it's in now and he was happy with it, so if it gets used fine, if not, it was less that £20. Ta for the input though, it all helps.
