30-6
If you happened to swallow bits of the hmr fragments that could be left in a rabbit, would it harm you, stick in your gut for example ? Or would it just pass through ?
Beretta28g
A nice mixture of sharp edged copper and lead. Not what i would call gourmet, however your teeth should find it when you are eating.
Redgum
I have eaten loads of lead shot in pigeon n game, my father has eaten a stack more plus his tap water came through lead pipes and he's 86 n still going. I have shot 100's of rabbits with my hmr and never noticed any copper and lead but I head shoot and only take the loins and back legs
30-6
One of the reasons i ask is because any " scrap " bits i have goes to the farm dogs, Don't want to kill the poor *******. It's not the lead i'm worried about, it's the " sharp bits ".

kent
Oh you would definatly die and the worms that ate your rotting corpse would tranfer the poison to the bird that eats it, then to the sparrow hawk that eats that. Well at least acording to the RSPB and the likes
daz2202
now i understand why harnser is leavinghttp://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif The blue tips are fine to eat, but never the red tips as they are much faster and often shot at much longer distances (often over 200 yards I have heard) and this causes them to break into larger pieces. Zaiyn
AFAIK, studies show that lead intake reduces IQ in humans. With certain of my fellow shooters, this may explain a few things
crosshair
my wife is an ultrasonographer, she sees a lot of people with lead shot in their gut from eating game. no harm done. A mate of mine went into hospital, after having x-rays the doctor asked him when he was shot ?. Apparently there were dozens of lead pellets showing up in his stomach. They were not removed and he's still ok, and that was about tenyears ago.
