retromlc
i got a flapper from the site sponsor for xmas and have never really used it as i thought i needed a timer to get the best results ,as with it just flapping the first time I used it it seemed to spook the birds,Anyway tried it out for the second time last week,it was working fine,i disconected the black wire ,but left the red one on the battery and went for a look about, when i came back the flapper refused to operate, could leaving the positive wire connected damage it?the battery was charged and it won't work?any ideas? Alanl50
No leaving one wire connected cannot damage your Flapper, ring them and ship it back. Alan

codling99
un less the red and black wire accidentally touched somehow in wind or something, thatll short it out
Cosd
un less the red and black wire accidentally touched somehow in wind or something, thatll short it out I don't think that is the case because he said that he disconnected the black wire from the battery, so even if the black wire went across to the red terminal this would not short curcuit; It would only short curcuit if both black and red were attached to the battery and they touched. Sounds like the flapper, but just to double check try another battery if you can.
Teal
Did you break both the birds wings?
retromlc
the wires couldn't have touched as they have plastic covers on them and I broke the wings.the only problem with returning them is the cable got cut,it was insulated seperatly and was working but they will probably say it's been tampered with.I'll try them, they're normally pretty good. I agree with the above statement. They were excellent in helping me when I had an issue with one of their products. Also, they sell spare motor's for their flapper, if a warranty has expired.
