-Mongrel-
I'm expecting an SGC from Sussex Police and it's a couple of weeks 'overdue'. The FEO said the turnaround should be 'about' 6 weeks, it's now pushing 9. Is it too early to chase? Do I chase through the FEO, or is it the licensing department? chippy18
Firearms dept at Lewes HQ is the place but if its only 9 weeks wouldn't hold my breath. The 6 week turn around was wishful thinking on the part of the FEO. My renewal took about 13 weeks to get back to me and that was only with pestering them. Cheers
CZ550Kevlar
i`m sure given another week or 2 you should get it, 3 or 4 weeks late isn`t out of the norm for any force.
farmshooter
around 3 months is normal for my force but it once took 6 months and that was me pestering them every week :(
loomer
I was told 8-10 weeks when I applied for mine earlier this year. It arrived just after 8 weeks.
Spara Dritto
Mine was the same, took a good few months. They were weeks behind 6 months ago, I've heard from people on here that it's still the case. Edited July 21, 2011 by Beretta Italy

sg1
I go clay shooting with one of the Sussex FEO's and my old man was waiting for his SGC(getting on for 3 months wait) so he asked if it'd be an idea to phone Lewes and was told "if you phone to chase it up, you'll just **** em off and they'll put you to the bottom of the pile!!" . I phoned the other day about a notification of a new shotgun and they told me they're 12 weeks behind on all enquiries. atvb sg1

CZ550Kevlar
I can see the FEO office from my office and i can confirm they drink alot of hot drinks which must mean processing licences is very thirsty work, The poor guys also must miss their lunch breaks on a regular basis as they seem to get through alot of biscuits too. Glad you got there in the end.
