Lord Geordie
I don't beleive this. :< I got my Gun back from Falcon after it was doing 13.5 or near abouts they "reset the power" I got it out tonight and shot 10 pellets and decided to put it over the Chrono just to be on the safe side 14.55FPE :< I am REALLY LIVID. I just got off the phone to them and OH we are sorry we can't get your records they're locked in the office This will be the THIRD time it's been back now and i have literally used it 5 times i am completely chuffed off now i feel like going down to Sussex and wrapping it round their necks what a bunch of losers Each time it has been delivered by Citylink it's been damaged. 1st was the barrel bent round the air chamber by 45 degrees And this last time they bent the trigger bar AND damaged the trigger blade :< No doubt it will be damaged AGAIN when i get it back. This is a BRAND new gun and it simply SHOULDN'T happen. Where do people stand when CAUGHT shooting with one of these that's over the limit??? It's just not on i tell you Rant off For now LG Edited April 20, 2006 by Lord Geordie

roblade
did they say what pellets they were using to test your rifle with? what pellets are you using? are you weighing the pellets yourself or going by published weights? what chrono are you using? not too good what falcon are doing though ROB
Lord Geordie
Pellets THEY used 10.40 grain Pellets I used 10.5 grain AND 10.6 grain and a ten run of EACH to check for anomolies Chrono is a Combro and was calibrated for Pellet weights I have sorted the problem now as i DIDN'T want to have to post it to have it Damaged YET AGAIN I stripped the main spring out as it was too long by more than 5mm so i took 6mm off to be sure and readjusted the spring seat and it's bang on 11.7 FPE now Also the Spring seat grub screw was loose Some engineers or (gunsmiths) they have there Can't even make sure the srews are tight It's just not on when someone gets a new gun and YOU have to do the stuff yourself When they damaged the Trigger Bar and Trigger blade in transin they cheeky beggars sent ME the parts to fix MYSELF Never buying another falcon i dont care if they are platimun plated Cran I pm'd you back bud LG

Even if the 2FPS difference was proved it would STILL have been .5FPE over I have no reason to disagree with my findings as not all my air rifles have shot through steel plate I made a target holder from steel shelving with holes cut out and clips welded on to hold the paper targets. The Bisley went THROUGH the steel and not even my STEALTH in .22 went through. The chrono has been used on COUNTLESS guns and all but the Stealth and this Falcon were trouble. As i say i have no reason to disbeleive the Chrono??? I am after a Gamma or an Alpha chrono in the near future anyway but the Combro is fine IMHO LG
roblade
just curiouse but what pellets are you using as 10.?? is a pretty damn heavy .177 and im guessing a velocity of around 800 give or take. if you were using AA field that would give a reading of around 11.9 (@800fps) ROB
Lord Geordie
10.5g Crosman premier And 10.6g bisley magnums Crosman premier 10.5g are doing 707FPS at 11.65FPE Chairgun concurs with this finding so i know my Chrono aint wrong LG Edited April 20, 2006 by Lord Geordie

the lizard
if i was you i would get them to give you how much you paid for it for a refund or if they refuse threaten them to get trading standards onto it. That sounds like excellent advice, bb. When the gun was returned to you LG, did they provide you with any written certification of its power rating ? If they did, then the legal liability for having an overpowered weapon would be down to them. But that is a bit of a grey area. If you want LG, I could ask my brother about this - he's a solicitor (and an ex-shooter). the Lizard
Lord Geordie
I got a test sheet for their testing but as i say i have sorted it out now the main spring was 5mm too long and was putting the hammer under too much preload. I cut the spring and redressed the end and it's sitting fine at 11.7FPE I ordered a set of Scales that should be here in the next few days to weight pellets. I HAVE a set of LEE powder scales but they are not really accurate enough after a certain little man played with the calibration slide Now i have a Digital set on the way and am going to weight EVERY pellet before putting them through Should be fine now though Thanks LG
the lizard
Glad it's sorted LG. But I still think you should play hell with those people about their crummy - not to say DANGEROUS - customer service. They could have caused you a lot of trouble and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. Threatening to write to the trade magazines / newspapers about their sloppy service often works wonders. You should certainly be compensated for all the stress, inconvenience and extra expense they have caused you. the Lizard Edited April 20, 2006 by the lizard
