EdSolomons
Probably sounded harsh, my thought process is we have access to guns/shells that are capable of incredible things, and with shells 5odd quid a box I'd rather be trying to make the most of them rather than shooting 2 sub 30 yard crossers. Still massive respect for the boys who gring out 100/200 straight week in week out, I've got the attention span of a 6 year old
HDAV
Probably sounded harsh, my thought process is we have access to guns/shells that are capable of incredible things, Yes but only if the person behind them is well practised and accurate! and with shells 5odd quid a box I'd rather be trying to make the most of them rather than shooting 2 sub 30 yard crossers. Thats what 21g of steel 9 are for! £3.30-70 a box (when bought in quantity) Still massive respect for the boys who gring out 100/200 straight week in week out, I've got the attention span of a 6 year old Its only hard if you havent missed one yet! loomer
First time trying it today. Hit 16. I can see that it could be quite addictive.
Peathag
Just been on my first and my god it was hard, went to Orston (notts) and I was amazed at the speed these things came out, needless to say I didnt do very well, 6 out of 25 :-(. This was shooting my new gun though on full chokes so not really making it easy for myself. However the final 2 stages I hit 5 out of 8 so I was getting there in the end. How did you do on your first ever go? Now Im thinking I need to go more and have a lot more practice!! Call me old fashioned but why are using full choke on targets that are really close? Skeet - it says a lot when there is even a choke designed specifically for this discipline as the targets are less than 20m away. I have been shooting for over 30 years and I opt for my skeet choke and size 9 shot when shooting this discipline. Yeah I have shot it with full from time to time for one reason or another but I save my full choke for trap shooting where it is required. The first time I shot skeet was when I was about 14 and it was on a time delay (ISU) and I was shooting an AYA no 3 20g and I shot 21/25 and won the comp. So open up your chokes and fill the pattern with 8's 9's or 9.5's and learn the gun hold points and break zones and then practice. loomer
I've only had my gun and been shooting weekly for about a month. It's all been sporting until now. It was sporadic before that, once a month or so.

TopDown
Had a go for the first time yesterday. Did a couple of rounds. First one was 15. It would be very easy to just keep shooting it because you know you can hit them so why aren't you hitting them all?!
throdgrain
My first round of skeet I shot 19 ex 25, with a Mossberg pump action. That was about 7 ir 8 years ago I think. I shot my first ever 25 last week. It's been a long road ...
