big bad lindz
Hi all as I am still very much a novice I would like to find out from all you experts what kind of weather conditions that you will go out in. It was my intention to to go out this morning but when I got to the fields i have permission on it was chucking it down and with a good fresh wind. I dont mind during the season, going down the shore after the geese and duck in poorer weather conditions, nor do I mind a shower or two after I have set up, but getting out the car and walking through wet grass to set up (Crops have not been harvested yet in my area so its field edges)There is never the large amount of birds that you all get further south, so I dont think getting soaked is worth it. So, windy, dry, bright, overcast, wet, whats the general feeling. The crops are starting to be harvested next when I am back at work offshore so we will see how things are then. Also the geese will be coming into the stubble and no doubt I along with a few mates will be setting up early doors for them and may also go for the doo`s as well Cheers, BBL
proTOM1
I find windy and bright the best conditions or windy and overcast but if the birds are out feeding and flying will go out no matter what the conditions are
Cranfield
I agree with ProTOM1. I prefer windy and dull, but have shot big bags in dead still and sunny conditions. Something to remember is that no matter how bad the weather is, the birds have got to feed at some time. They may feed in a short period and in a sheltered place, but they will feed. yickdaz
I find windy and bright the best conditions or windy and overcast but if the birds are out feeding and flying will go out no matter what the conditions are as above as long as birds are playing ball most conditions work..personally try to avoid going out if persistant rain is forcast, don,t mind the odd shower or light rain when out already

Alpha Mule
There's a bloke round here making a fortune selling gills. However: I'm still not interesed in going out and getting soaked to the skin, in the cold. Summer you say?
