scotland rifles
Well about a week ago we had to cubs from a new shoot just 5 mins drive from my front door, we had seen the vixen every day but never at night, so i popped out last night for an hour to see what was about on my local shoot, i called Craig out to see if he wanted to collect anything from me plus drop off my 6mm br case holder, so we went out and within about 20 mins Craig and i had taken about 40 rabbits and where just standing by the truck talking about the help for heroes place across the road, we decided to move on and just as we got the lamp moving there it was about 75 yards away in one of the paddocks, so Craig got the HMR up and down it went, Well it was a young dog fox, he was well chuffed sadly we cant get into the paddocks after dark as they have a new padlock on it so i will have to go get it removed today, anyway we went to what we call the out back as its very overgrown, and this is the same field we kept seeing the vixen in, so low and behold not 10 yards in the fiesl there she is sitting up bold as brass in front of a large patch of stingy nettles. out came the 6mm br running 75gr v max, down on the bonnet and crack, i aimed at the chest using the 200 yard mark on the rapid z ret and found i had a nice report back, she is number 25 so far this year and on ranging the area she was taken it was found to be 288 yards, looked further in the dark but hey we all know how that works. Nice to know that the br is on song as well as Craig, hes the one with the training shoes on (he did get a bit wet walking over to find here. bob. coyotemaster
Nice shooting, looks like the 75 Vmax spoiled her evening. The BR is a really accurate round-- fox is pretty small at 288. Well done.
