I got it from a bloke on eBay he's in the states and he's an official leupold dealer and as he said "I can get any leupold scope you want" I paid $699 = £432 and £73 tax this end it took 2 weeks door to door. The scope I got is over £850 over here so as you can see there's a MASSIVE saving to be had !!!

Hi there - you got yourself a really nice scope there! Could I ask how you paid the duty because

I have taken delivery of several items from America and I currently have another order in for some

custom parts for my Benelli but I have not paid any duty as far as I am aware the price I paid

was what was advertised - or am I to expect a letter from the inland revenue demanding some dosh.

Thanks

The goods have to be worth a certain value before you have to pay import duty on them. I think it used to be £27 but i'm pretty sure that limit was upped last year or the year before

No you can either ring up and pay over the phone or wait till you get a bill through the post. As soon as you have paid either way they will deliver the items

And you can pay it direct at the sorting/holding depot and pick it up yourself, which is quite often quicker! :sly: Thanks for the PM btw

Cheers that explains my query - I have ordered, paid for and received two batches of

items from Ebay.Com with no complications whatsoever, granted one batch was under US20 and the

second batch was around US50 but I am wondering about the US200 order which I have just placed

and paid for - I reckon this will be the one that gets held by customs, nevermind still cheaper

than rip-off Britain - thanks :good:
