kent
It will kill a tick within about 48 hrs, i believe it will kill a cat in about the same time

al4x
you remove fleas after a run? are you sure its fleas and the way it works they have to feed from the dog to ingest the chemical that kills them
JustJon
Does Frontline have a residual impact? Or is it just a knockdown, let the numbers build back up, knock down again style medication?
apache
Frontline is very very effective if applied properly. You must use the correct size for the dog and it must go on the skin, not the hair. Fleas are killed before they can bite for a full 28 days, and killed quickly for a full 2 month period (talking about the spot on product here). As the fleas are dying they appear more active and move further away from the dogs skin making them more obvious. A flea in an untreated dog is very hard to see as it moves very close to the skin. It is quite possible you are taking the dog somewhere with a high flea burden and the dog picks up a lot of hitch-hikers from the environment that you are seeing in their excitement phase whilst being killed. If used properly it's as close to 100% effective as you can realistically get. It is very safe in cats and we can use the spray in puppies and kittens as little as a few days old. jasper3
thanks lads.. yea we are putting it on right, the misses pulls the hair back to reveal the skin (back of head neck) definatly fleas..I guess they jump off the rabbits whilst being retrieved, Ive noticed the rabbits are full of them. sorry Al4x..i should of said when i take the dog out shooting, where he is in contact with rabbits...not just a run down the local field our problem is the dog lives indoors..so as you can imagin, the wife likes to combe him before coming in... and the dog loves it Edited August 18, 2011 by jasper3
