Lord Geordie
Well i have just returned from Thimbleby and while all is fresh in my head (and camera) i thought i would share with you Well first of all i want to thank Alison and her Man for arranging this Secondly i feel a small appology is ALSO in line as when alison was getting her score cards i butted in and told the guy just to pass 3 instead of just the 2 and passed my money over. I was under the impression it was £20 and infact if was £18 Confused the hell out of the guy sorting out the money. I honestly though i was doing the guy a favour and getting his work done quicker :( Anyway beyond that i had a nice day out and so did my Son so Thanks once again Alison. My son and i arrived early after having a chuckle at some unfortunate guy in his Jaguar on the A19 on it's side in the trees Yeah i know thats rotten laughing at others misfortune Once the group arrives we headed out onto the sporting grounds and make a start. Trap 1 and trap 2 were both busy so we skipped those and would do these at the end. So anyway Trap 3 we start shooting and to be honest i am thouroughly ashamed as i shot so bad on there it was 2 rather deceivingly easy shots from the left out of 10 i think i got 4 or 5 Trap 4 i was happy with i got some real high birds : Trap 5 i got a total of 0 6 was about 3 7 was around 4 8 i got 2 i think??? Pretty bad i hear you saying Anyway we went off to Number 2 and WAHEY i think i got about 8 out of 10 And trap 1 i beleive i got about 6. Much better But then trap 2 and 1 were more along the lines of Skeet and DTL so thats why i was better. Seems i need to get into MORE practice on Sporting and besides the day was better spent there than indoors i had a really good time of it and if i add them all up i had around 24 to 25 for 80 Still i wouldn't be going hungry tonight Here are a few piccies inc one i was SO pleased to get This one is Alison and you can see the clay breaking on the top left quarter of the photo A pic of her Bloke aiding someone to shoot with Alisons Beretta Semi Part of the group which came along And lastly a piccy of Me n the Laddy (put on your sunglasses the glare from the bald head is a bit bright :yp: As i say it was a Smashing day out and at only £18 i can HIGHLY recomend it it was worth every penny spent. Now my Son is upstairs with THOUSANDS of bits of broken clay trying to put them back together :o Thanks again to Alison and her Bloke top people and Better shots than me too LG Edited April 29, 2006 by Lord Geordie
Devilishdave
Sounds like you had a good day a warm up never does any harm If you can fit it in. Dave
Dead-Eyed Duck
Absolutely excellent LG. I won't forget the day that my son outshot me when he was using a 410 amd I had my favourite Beretta. He was shooting all wrong (and hitting the clays with boring regularity). So I starts to tell him that his feet position was ****, and this guy says "Leave him alone you silly old ****, and get some practise in yourself". Son thought it was very amusing - smug ***. I always think that it is better to miss in style, than to hit the clays according to the rules of shot random dispersion. Little sod then had a spine like an elastic band, and reactions like a cat. Lord Geordie
Far targets were some low curlers following the contours of the banks about 3 to 4 feet off the floor Some high birds but not unreachable (maybe for me ) but others seemed to reach em ok I think it was stand 4 or 5 that was an interesting combo Both highs and different angles AND speeds Still good fun and i FULLY intend to return for more of the same Even if i miss i still have a good time.
