Hi

I've been skulking around the site for the last few weeks. Its a great site and very informative. I have been shooting for around 5 years. I shoot a bit of clays and have half a gun with a small syndicate. I went out decoying with my mate over rape stubble for the first time about 6 weeks ago and managed to shoot 70 birds and have become slighty addicted. ( I shot more cartridges than I had in the previous two game seasons). Since then I have been out several times with mixed results but have had a great time. In between that I do the odd bit of flyfishing. I try to get out at least once a week. Anyway its a great site and its helped me a lot already

kind regards

Len

Hi Len and welcome, I fly fish too (fluff chucker) you start out buying flies! then tying them yourself! every type of fly you can? then after several hard seasons you realise when you understand the water you fish on that you only need about six patterns of fly that take fish!!! and thats that? but remember that you need 1 each of every fly you use?????? one to use!.......one, to lose...and....one to give away to another angler. tight lines mate, and enjoy. :welcomeani:

I totally agree with you. You buy every fly you can think of and then just use the 10 flies that you know work. I've got to the point that I have several boxes of flies that I never use but just carry around for the sake of it. Then you find the one that works and it ends up in a tree and its the last killer fly . I keep thinking about tying my own flies but i'm a bit fingers and thumbs!!
