i can't for the life of me work out how to post pics using the new forum software. I don't have web space and the only pic option I see when posting a new topic asks for a URL to be input.

What happened to the "browse file to upload" button?

Can anyone help me, I'm desperate to post an account and photo of a recent achievement I am extremely proud of!!!!

MAYBE YPUR PICTURES ARE TO BIG IN REVOLUTIE,MAKE THEM A LITTLE BIT SMALLER EN TRY AGAIN...

FIRST MAKE A TEKST AT THE TOP,

THEN SCROLL DOWNSTAIRS TO BLADEREN (LEFT FROM,, ADD THIS ATTACHMENT)

THEN TAKE A PICTURE YOU WANTS TO SEND(IN A LOW REVOLUTIE)

AND AT LAST CLICK TO ADD REPLY,

AND THEN YOU MUST SEEN YOUR MAIL ON THE FORUM,

HOPE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND THIS ,MY ENGLISH IS VERY BAD,SORRIE FOR THAT.

Marc,

In this section and few others the option is still there.

Look at the bottom of your reply box and ther is 'file attachments' and 'browse'

Just browse to where the picture is on yuor pc and them 'add this attachment' then 'add reply'

As Konings has said, the same rules apply, if it is too large it won't attach and will give you an error, so will need resizing down to under 200k. You can download an image resizer that plugs into XP for free from Microsoft, search for 'power toys' and scroll down the right hand side of the page when you get there.

To use the 'tree' option at the top of the screen, either link to a site that is hosting the picture, or get yourself a free account on a hosting site like Photobucket or one of the others.

There is a useful image re-sizer availabe from Microsoft called a Powertoy.

Download it here.Powertoy

This is not really software as such, it adds itself to Windows and becomes part of the right click menu, you can re-size pictures simply by right clicking on them and selecting "resize pictures"

A seperate small window opens, click the advance button at the bottom and it looks like this.

resize.jpg

The top option 640x480 is ok for posting images.

Tick the make pictures smaller box and click ok.

It makes a second copy of the image leaving the original intact.

Go to http://www.imageshack.us and set up an account.

Download their software. Right click on any image and then image will then be auto converted to a resolution preset by you (e.g for forums) and uploaded to your own "space".

Very versitile (I use it for ebay listings) and it's free.

The free Picasa software from Google is pretty good for managing photos on your PC as well.

Come on Marc, get those pictures up here, I thought you were one of our brighter students! :good:;)

Here a couple of kippers from last weekend.

The bottom one is 2lbs the top one was 4 1/4lb and nearly took my arm off!

I only use a 4 weight outfit for small stillwaters, so a bit a struggle getting that in, and it came from the very last cast of the morning, my mat had packed up and was waiting for me to finish up.

To make it sweeter, only one other fish was caught that morning (between about 12 anglers) and both of these fell to one of my own flies
