Dr W
It's a 2 hour session to have a go at 25 clays??? That's on average 1 shot every 4.8 mins What the hell are you doing for the rest of the time?
HDAV
Groupon deal i wouldnt bother tBH they are a pile em high idea and you'll be rushed through with loads of people who are just happy to hear a bang. I ordered some pillows from groupon and they still haven't arrived 3 weeks after they were promised!

Diceman
"At the layout, visitors will wait for the call of ‘pull!’ and watch the saucer-shaped clay projectiles fly through the sky as if driven by aliens." Might be worth a visit just to see that! As above, 2 hours for 25 bangs sounds like they are dragging it out for far too long. A lot of less commercial grounds will have a training stand with free or very cheap tuition from a member or committee man for a 'have a go' experience, I know haybalers that will do you 25 clays + cartridges for about a tenner and even with a good safety briefing included they can knock that out in 45 minutes tops. If you want more they will walk you round a 50 bird / 5 stand shoot for about £25. Not Olympic standard coaching but friendly advice that will get you hitting clays. This is the friendliest sport I know and novices are usually made very welcome at club shoots.
HDAV
What the hell are you doing for the rest of the time? waiting for the other 9 people to shoot, more likely 5 shots at a stand 10 to a group! As with all groupons 50% goes to groupon so it's £17.50 cheap shells that's £14 ish for the 2 hours, it doesn't add up unless there are 8-10 in a group then it does, £35-50 is probably the norm for a 25 bird taster session. EdSolomons
Check with the ground as many won't let beginners out to shoot without first having a lesson. Plus will save practicing the inevitable bad habits you will start with. Ed
