Another crack at the Corvids.

Following our success on the Crows/Jackdaws yesterday, we decided to try again today. We set up at 06.40, just as it was getting light. We put a few decoys down (some of the Jackdaw's from yesterday, kept cool until today) and settled down for some action. After about five minutes, a Crow came to have a look, and paid the price!. This was followed by some Jackdaw's, which came in, in groups of 5-8. By 11am, we accounted for 36 Jackdaws and 1 Crow (picked up)5 Jackdaws were lost in the trees again, but definitely killed. Play was interupted again by the farmer, who decided that he wanted to spin the straw again to dry it. We pulled in all the dead birds, floaters and rota, until he finished. We placed them all back out, only to find that one of the farm hands started to drive around the field, making rows of straw, ready for the baler. We'd had enough by then, and decided to pack up.

We had a good day out again, and our total was 41 Jackdaws and 1 Crow. I did'nt take any photo's this time though.

Hopefully, when the straw has been baled, we can try our luck once more. Our total for the two days was 130 birds, so not too bad.

Thanks again to Mark for an enjoyable few hours out.
