sako751sg
Sorted oot a lads steading where the ferals were dumping everywhere using the Webley with a Clulite supreme lighting them up.Ended up with 17 for a quick 10 minutes and he was fair chuffed. We have been feeding this wee poached area which is pure goor by the cattle using it.Every year it starts getting used by a few ducks, mostly widgeon and noticed a few feathers lying on it the other day.I fed it for months last winter and when i went to shoot it,nothing came and i thought it was strange until i was chatting to the farm worker and he said someone else had shot it before i went out and had 6,so i wasnt wanting it to happen again.Wjen i first fed it this season there was already barley round it so i thought it was my chance for the first crack at them.Arrived there at 18.30,and by nearly dark nothing had came and i was thinking of sacking it when 2 mallard came screaming in,and when they set i downed the first one and got the other when he rose above the horizon.I was chuffed with the two,but they just kept coming and i couldnt even reload in time for the next lot. There must have been the guts of 100 altogether in the next 15 mins, and i got a wee bit carried away in shooting 8 but great sport nontheless.Just shows what feeding wee splashes here and there can produce and well worth the effort. Its not even 6 inches deep and probably 10 yards by 5 and can produce shooting like this. Teal
Good shooting! I mostly pan fry the mallard breasts - delicious!
TJ91
I have a small splash like that on 1 of my permissions. The mallard always seem to come to it at very last light! It amazes me how many duck can squeeze onto such a small bit of water! Easy to get carried away. Well done!
