onefulham
My son is hopefully getting his SGC week after next, well police visit then. He wants a semi and has saved up enough for a new gun, he has been looking at the Browning Maxus or the Winchester Super X3, drolling over them on the internet every night ! I have never used a semi and would like some advice, he would use it mostly for clays with some hide work, with a pal and his Dad, I belive a 3 1/2 chamber might cause some cycling problems ? Any advice is gratefully received

P~MX
I've had Beretta's auto's all my life up until the last 3/4 years when I moved over to Browning auto's, I've a green Sporting Clays (Pristine) and a year old Maxus and it's unreal to shoot with,it's so light and absolutely No recoil - I can easily shoot mine with one hand if needed - my 14 year old daughter can easily shoot it too. I can't recommend a Maxus enough other than to say I'll have a camo one next for the fields.
gemini52
I have had an sx3 then went on to a maxus hunter, and to be fair they are both very good, not had a problem with cyling issues with ether, the problem i did have was with the maxus when a spring broke and damaged the receiver, it went back to browning and they replaced it.If he wants a clay gun the sx3 comes in a field model with wood stock and fore end, in 3 inch. Schern
I think they're much of a muchness. SX3 is cheaper. Ive got an 3.5" SX3 and it cycles 28g carts with no problems. Had a few 21g ones through it too. Best for him to get down a shop that stocks both and see which he prefers.
Simon123
Winchester SX3 if it fit's him well, lovely to shoot, light, hardly any recoil, solid gun and will take abuse, and i've only heard good things about them ;) Browning maxus is a beautiful handling gun, but have seen a few go wrong and would say that they are not even close to the SX3's reliability :good: The Winchester SX3 is also cheaper than the Browning Maxus, which is also a good thing as then you'll have more money to spend on cartridges :D I think it's very obvious on which id go for, if i hat the money that is
Sx3 clay breaker
Sx3 got one in 3/12 inch magnum fired about 300 shot and the shot 24 grim and cycled flawlessly sx3 cb
kent
They are both basically built on the same action manufactured by FN buy the one that fits but be aware the browning cost more My SX3 will cycle anything i feed it- only issue is it throws the empties a lot further than others i have owned and used. The LOP is very similar but the browning comes up shorter due to the angle of the hand IMO
