I LOVE whiting , they taste nicer than cod IMO. A few cod in the river, out in the boat next week will let you know!! :good:

I'm with you on that EE, very under rated. Margun joined me for a tide last weekend and we couldn't even get a few decent Whiting to take home, they were tiny. Didn't expect much on the easterly but come on, a few Whiting isn't a big ask!

A few of us went yesterday off gorleston beach....fished from about 10 till 19.30pm

Lost count of how many whiting, dab and flounders I had... most were actually keepers....

Caught 8 lots of tackle....I will let Beretta28g (Pete) explain that one   )

went through 7 lots of rag, 1.4 kg of makkie and a few prawns and squid....

A very good day but I am sore this morning...its hard work this sea fishing lark

Matt, we left the beach at 11pm i thought ???

6 Whiting, 3 Dabs for me, and i managed to loose 10 lots of tackle in the process.(big old rock or something was snapping my 18lb line, however Leeds managed to pull in a lot of my lost tackle with 50lb braid)

7 lots of rag, 50 lug, 2kg(ish) Makeral, Raw Prans and Squid we had with us, and what didthe blighters want to feed on? Makeral!

Good to all be out though, we will have to do another day soon.

Now off rig and hook tying.

the rag was on offer in the shop and was a bit old but still did the job

i was using 2 rods with 3 hooks and 2 hook boom set up and having to cast every 15 mins or so as the crabs were stripping the bait quick even with elastic on

Pete you need to settle the invoice for the tackle i got back and you still owe £1 50p for the biggest and 50p for the most

Well 4 of us made it.

I fished kessingland last night and only reeled in twice all night without a fish on must have had 60 whiting plus my first codling of the year shame it was a slinky and weighed about 1lb ,perhaps we should have a pigeonwatch beach fishing meet up.

pete you should have a text...

whatabout next thursday????:good:

If you mean this coming thursday 17th yes I could make that ,the following one would be more difficult.

What venue are you thinking of ? tide times are not great think the high at gorleston is about 13.09 or 01.30 on the friday morning if you would rather fish at night kessingland is about 30 mins later ,I fish kessigland quite a bit as there are hardly any snags at all.

But I am happy to try anywhere.

Well kessigland would be a good bet then as your two leads should last there -unless you crack off  would you want to fish the day tide or night ? ,I prefer night myself but can fit in with what is best for you.

Can lend you most bits and pieces your likely to need ,let me know if there is anything in particular.

just got back from local beach, had 2 small eyed rays, just under 6 and 8lb,and a strap conger about 2lb.mate had a dog and a rockling. plenty of codling about other marks down here around 2/5lb mark, few doubles been taken of shore all ready too, good year for the cod i think, whiting still mainly small though.

No probs mate ,if you want to do the high in the early hours no need to be fishing too early though ,if we get down something like 6pm that would be more than early enoughdrop me a pm but wont probly get a reply until tomorrow evening as working tomorrow.
