I'm not an expert but mink seems a logical guess, especially around water.
Kes
This the sort of thing that buzzards/sparrow hawks do after plucking the birds so there will be a trail of feathers running down wind and the body, if they are involved. I agree it could be mink or rats - you need a tunnel trap and a mark 6 fen trap and if it continues - its a predator from the skies !!! scolopax
Don't rule out an Otter, they are much more commomn than they were a few years ago. I had one swim through my duck decoys a fortnight ago.

Tripe I'm trying to visualise a Sparrowhawk whacking a goose. It's not working for me
SPARKIE
im with chard on this one geese can be nasty im sure its not going to be a mink and definitely not a rat. id say fox if anything and they dont allways carry there food away ive baited them with dead pigeons before shooting them and found a lot of the time they will only move a few yards and eat the bird. Kes
Tripe I'm trying to visualise a Sparrowhawk whacking a goose. It's not working for me Its not tripe, o wise one, if the bird has already been killed. It actually happened to a rabbit we had - french lop and as big as a small dog. Killed by a stoat and eaten by a combination of badger and buzzard. I doubt what killed these birds stripped them, hence my comment. Of course a sparrow hawk wouldnt kill a chicken or a goose, unless in a flight of fantasy.
