Cartridge Deflector

Try a company called Birchwood Casey in USA - cartridge catcher.

Tried the above, but no way of ordering to be sent to the UK. I have emailed them to ask if it's possible. However, looking at their 'save it' shellcatcher, which only holds the ejected case until manually removed (no good for me when firing 3 shots in quick succession) I have decided to try and make my own (if not basic) version of it.

The prototype has been 'manufactured' and will be tried out tomorrow morning to see if it works.

i actually followed a tread on this a while back, and made one to fit an auto,,although it wasn't "finished" it did work very well, but i showed it on here and got the **** taken out of it.i looked into getting them made, but the response was so poor that i never followed it up.the main problem with them is that mine stuck out quite a bit and members thought it would visually get in the way

So ???

Did'nt take it with me today, just as well, cos' there was hardly any birds up there. Changed the idea now, and working on a different type. Fitted it to my shotgun (via xtra strong double sided tape) and ejected a spent cartridge manually. It did deflect the case and stopped it going a few yards. I'm going to try it out sometime next week(weather permitting) and will report my findings.

better check A&E ;)

A&E + Welsh Air Ambulance are on stand by!

the one i made worked well,it was fixed to the barrel end of the action and I'd glued a magnet to the stock end of the action,so the catcher could be swung out of the way to reload from the side or whatever needed to be done.it had a cage on it which deflected the cartridge down and into a net ,eventually i cut the bottom off the net so the cartridge just dropped out onto the floor, when the net was sealed the spent carts built up and were differcult to extract from net, worked well i must say.looked odd though.

Why wouldn't a bag under the deflector be suitable?

It probably could work, but I'm happy for the cartridges to fall to the floor, as long as they are not too far away from me.

My device does not catch the spent cases, it just deflects them.
