Seems the geese are going to give my permission a miss this year and the pigeons have done the off too despite there being 3-400 using some stubble before I went on a weeks fishing holiday ,came home sat and the stubble is still down but the pigeons gone, looking out of the window they are now ploughing in the beet tops and chances are my chances of a pinkfoot or two are disapearing with them  not shot a pigeon since august on the rape stubble now how very depressing :eh:

The pigeons had completely disappeared from here for the last two months. Not a bird to be seen in the open or woods :hmm: Then last week, just like someone flickinga switch they haave appeared again :hmm::hmm: Saw a flock of 80 ish piling into some woods nearby and starting to see them whilst driving around.

Happens every year. I don't know where they go to....really puzzling :hmm::hmm:

saw the same arond here, during harvest we had some really good days with very good bags, :D soon as combine retire into the sheds the pigeons just disapair  ,

my theory is....... that because that theres so much food laid about the pigeons are spread out more thinly giving the impression that there are less or non about, then they go into woods to feed on beach masts, and acorns. then about now they flock up and hit rape in large numbers and giving the impression that they have returned from a 3 month holiday :welcomeani:
