Chris Bb
8 grand for a year 2000 Defender? Is that what they're worth? Well that's off the shopping list! Christ I could buy three Disco's for that! If it wasn't so far from home I'd snap it up at that price, especially with that mileage! Invest now, when the new model comes out these classics will rocket in value.
jacksdad
I would rather spend £1500 on a Trooper of the same age, I cannot believe how much they fetch!

Alex C
Quite why people feel the need to make comments like ''how much? i could buy XX for that'' i will never know. I could buy a dozen brownings for the price of a Purdey, So what ? I wouldnt put that on someones advert for a Purdey, i would keep my comments to myself. For what its worth it looks like a really nice and tidy Landy, It should fetch what the chap is asking. Good luck with the sale fella

mick miller
I payed 7 grand for a 14 year old Tdi and that was well worth them money in my opinion. Some people pay 1000's for a bottle of wine whilst others are happy with a bottle of blue nun, it's horses for courses.

It wasn't intended to be disparaging, I was genuinely surprised by what it was worth. It still amazes me that they fetch as much as they do when they are a very basic utilitarian vehicle. At that age it's probably worth more than an equivalent Range Rover, are you going to tell me it's more car for your money? Anyway it's ... Now sold. Many thanks for all the interest. Nice one, I'm glad you sold it fairly easily. Or just buy 1, then spend the balance making it good welding etc LOL, yeah, because you never have to do any welding on a Defender do you. retromlc
I paid £3600 for my G reg but with the origional engine in it ,the 19J,which is apparently a poor choice, but I like my 90 and there is something about them that make s you wanna keep them,my m8 paid £6.5k for a low milage '51 palte 2 years ago,at the time i thought he was mad,now it's worth about £8.5k or more, looks like a deal.thing is you can't seem to work out the correct price,i saw one just like mine sell on flee bay for £5100 the other day Edited November 7, 2011 by retromlc
Osgoodbyshooter
They can be very difficult to value.. The very tidy ones do seem to attract a lot of interest and hold their value though.
