CollioureII
Hi All, Currently I have a pair of dunlop purofort wellies (think thats what they called)......since the the start of Nov I've been doing a lot of walking in them and as of last Sat I've a real bad arch pain in my foot. I've got insert and they appear to be solving the problem...however I wouldn't mind getting a pair of proper wellies that support the arch of the foot. I've looked at the Le chameau Chasseur boot it's expensive I know (not too bothered on cost once it will do a good job) I've also looked at the Dubarry range of boots Have other pope on here had my problem and what welly have they gone for? Aled
Have the same problem Collioure, i have a pair of Eiger wellies which i find brilliant. Make sure you do the exercises, i find they help a lot. Worth noting that i find waders and wellies two of the most comforatable items of footwear i have! bicykillgaz
i love wellies but get the same pain in my left foot, i just wear boots now and don't get the pain, wellies just don't offer the support my high arches need. i'm gonna get some money together and get a pair of meindl dovre extreme to use as my welly type boot and stick with my meindl burma's as my everyday shooting/dog walking boot. Alycidon
La chamuies are Ok wellies, hold together well with decent support. I use the ones with the blue thermal liner, work for me and I have medical shoe inserts to keep me level. Cant use them in the wellies but I am ok after a day or two in my Chameaus. Aled
Just had a thought, maybe because i spent so much time in waders or wellies as i was growing up my feet miss em when i'm not wearing them.....those of you who talk about boots also have a point tough, i have a good pair of walking boots which are well looked after, and my feet feel good in em too! Anyway another type of footwear i find very comfortable are good old sandals, you can laugh if you want but seriously my feet felt great when i came back from a weeks holiday. the enigma
Muck Boot Esk wellies might be worth a look. I just got a pair of them last week, and think they're great. I wear wellies day in,day out around the yard,so they need to be comfy. They're a sturdy boot, with loads of support.
Colster
You're better off getting decent inserts (eg Superfeet) that support the arch and take them with you when you go boot shopping. I use inserts in my boots and wellies.
