onefulham
Just been up to the new Stutley Brothers place, off the south bound A1 near Biggleswade at a fishery, shame they had to move from Baldock, nice big old fashioned looking shop, in a nice town, and closer to me. The new shop looks a little smaller, or maybe they are just kitting it out still. I have used the shop a few times before, but am in no way a regular, and the guy does not know me. I went in to get some 24g carts, as the 21g ones we have been using, do not reset the lanber my son uses for a second straight shot. I was recommended getting some different make 21g carts, got some Rio ones, they do seem to work but the odd one still fails to re set the gun, someone then told me to try some 24g carts, if still no joy get the gun looked at, thus my visit to Stutley Bros, told him what I wanted and why, he went looking and only had one box in stock, I asked how much and he said, no charge, let him try, see if they work, if they do come back for some more, what great service, very impressed. We will be going back, highly recommended. Edited November 10, 2011 by onefulham

Gnome of the Woods
Old shop is still open just hardly anything in it! They had a massive sale to reduce their stock to fit in the new
AlistairB
Been to the new shop twice, and been completely ignored twice as i walked in and had a look about, thought about buying some £100 ear defenders and slabs of shells, but went to my local shop (in Sandy) instead and got a welcome and a deal. Not impressed, same talking heads in there that hung around in the old shop. Wont be going there again. AB
12Greygrouse
Have to say I got the same treament in the old Baldock shop, not a word or acknowledgment of me or my custom. I wasn't the biggest spender as I used to get my airgiun recharged there and buy the odd slab of cartridges but after a few visits without a word being exchanged I decided not to return. Annoying as I work 5 mins from Baldock. Now go to the Country Store in Sawston (45mins away) but I get outstanding service, advice and appreciation of my custom. Can't recommend them enough. al4x
the funny thing is I've heard this from a lot of locals, I avoid due to issues over a rifle and the inability to give any guideline on time to get it in then to get it threaded. Makes you realise why business wasn't brisk enough to keep the baldock shop open despite the area crying out for a decent gun shop
Gnome of the Woods
Their service and general handling of firearms cam be shocking. But Steve's a nice bloke with a good amount of knowledge, the brothers! well. Lets face it though, it is just a play thing for them. They don't need the money and moving to smaller premises probably just stops them losing money!
Hunter2
Steve`s, yours man in there,I have always been looked after not the cheapest place around but steve is always happy to help. The brothers can be a bit ...er stand offish but once you get them chatting they are ok,been around for a long time.
onefulham
Don't know the name of the guy who served me, tallish balding guy, been the same guy , the few times that I been to the shop before, I cannot comment on others experience, good or bad. The only thing I can say is , when I explained my sons prob, to give him a free box of carts to try, to get and keep youngsters shooting, was I think very impressive. bruno22rf
Just bin to this "new" shop and ,quite frankly, its not on my "must go again"list. We were the only 2 people in the shop and were totally ignored.I went there to buy a particular item they have advertised on the net-when I enquired i was told that they dont stock them-it was'nt until i mentioned the internet that they bothered to look and hey presto-they do stock them. What a shower of sssshhii clowns. StuC
Stopped by here today for a mooch. Guy was great in the store, looking on the web I don't think it was one of the brothers. i was looking at shotguns of which there were a good selection. It's a bit far for me to go, but if he has the right gun when I,m ready to buy, I'll be going back

cleaner4hire
But they had what I needed and in this area thats rare there really isn't a decent gunshop for miles Exactly the problem round here. Ive been fortunate a few times in that they have had stuff in but when you ask them to order something, you either get a load of different answers or it takes an age to arrrive. I just try and buy stuff in bulk now whilst Im elsewhere in the country to avoid these frustrations!!!
