scotland rifles
i am just about to sell my sako quad 17 hmr complete set up, and i would like to ask the following where do i go now, i like the look of a browning T bolt but i have not seen many to ask whey they are like, i also could go for a Anni(never had one but i do use one from time to time) this looks like the next in line. other than that its back to a CZ, but i would like a silhouette and i need a new mod as well so i may well go back to Dave DM80 for one of his new ones. whats your thoughts lads. bob. I've had a t bolt in .22 and it was great, really nice action. Trigger was good too.
bunny_blaster
You wont go wrong with an annie. Ive not heard too many good things about the T-Bolt. Ive spoke to 2 gunshops about them(one of which love anything browning and even they said to avoid it and they had only sold 2 in 3 years!!) so i'd avoid them. Again you wont go wrong with a CZ, just a bit agricultural. Why did you sell your Sako Bob? Cheers Ben
Salop Matt
If i was starting out again I would only keep the scope i have now. Silencer wise i wouldnt get another DM80 i would just get a £40 SAK. Rifle wise i would definately go for a T-Bolt for a synthetic stock and the great T-bolt action ! the only other i would consider would be a thumb holed cz (the light barrel though) ! :-D

scotland rifles
Why did you sell your Sako Bob? Cheers Ben to be honest Ben its a cracking tool but i only use it when we have a red moon, my 20 tac seems to be doing all i need at the moment and i have 1 large shoot area that i can only use the 17 on for various reasons, the buyer has not been in touch in 2 days so we will have to see if he turns up ?? this is the rifle. complete with custom cheek piece. custom thread protector,17 cal specific mod, yada yada. bob. http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/530395/17_HMR_boltaction_rifle_tests.html Might be worth a read ! just reading it now, bob. thank you
killer_pigeon
I have the 1517 HMR Annie and its pin head accurate and a real pleasure to own, 16" barrel with Sak mod, but you do pay a bit more for them compared to the rest are you bored with the Sako ? or is it giving you problems ? Hi KP. no issues with the rifle, just need something to fill the slot, and i fancy yet another change, the T bolt looks good but there is the possibility that i will go for the anni, but the bolt is a pain in the harris :( bob. bunny_blaster
Ive also heard the mags arent that good, jamming alot which makes sense being a rotary fed system. Cheers Ben

If you're considering an Annie don't overlook the Weihrauch HW60. An Annie in all but price. I agree with Salop Sniper about the mod. I've looked at more up-market makes but stuck with the SAK because of its light weight. The HW60 has 14" barrel and is so well balanced and pointable its daft to ruin it with a heavy steel mod. Paddy Galore!
hi mate, have you considered a fancy new custom stock? i might just have one floating around you know... as for mods, i had a 3rd eye tac mod, it was pretty damn good and half the size of that monstrosity you have on yours
scotland rifles
the mod on my rifle is made from top grade aircraft alloy, fully strip-able, its only 3mm wider in dia than the 3rd eye tactical one (i have 2 of them) its custom built to last a long time on a 17 hmr. fitted to the sako it balances it very well indeed. thumb-hole stock, i shoot both left and right handed so that ones out. the anni bolt on my mates anni falls to bits far to easily.not sure on this at all, don't facy a bolt that falls to bits when you remove it. i shot a HW60 last month 14" if steel fit for the bin , could not get it to shoot less than 2.37" at 50 yards with or without the mod on. so that put me off that rifle. seems the t bolt is carp ? a custom stock for a sako ?? the stock on it is light hard wearing and comfortable.and i have never seen a custom stock for a sako quad ??. accuracy, the sako is as good as any Anni i have shot or CZ etc, so no issues there, bob.
