fireshot
Just bought my first shotgun a Miroku MK70 sporter 28 inch as I`m short this fits me nicely, I booked a lesson at Park farm shooting ground in worcestershire ,I`v shot a few times before beaters day that type of thing .I learnt alot and I think I did very well with the chokes with the gun 1/2 and 3/4 70 clays and I shot 60 .Now I have the bug just ordered some skeet chokes and waiting for my next day off. OvEr_KiLL
why do you want skeet chokes? for sporting you want 1/4 and 1/2, for trap ie. DTL ABT you want 1/2 3/

WelshLamb
Nothing wrong with using skeet chokes for sporting clays. I did when I first started out

The skeet chokes you've ordered will be perfect for what you want. If you can get hold of #9 shot cartridges they'll give you that little bit extra too. Spara Dritto
I've ended up with using full/full for sporting. There has been no change. I will add, I've been very lucky and met 4 or 5 different clay instructors at my local clay ground and we always end up going around together when we meet, so had many hours worth of free lessons/advice. Like many say, a choke gives you inches but you miss in feet. Tight chokes give me confidence. I think very few would realise if they mixed chokes and chucked random ones in kill ratio wise. You may get 1 or 2 extra clays out of 50 with more open chokes. I may add, If I was doing a competition, I'd not use these chokes and have the barrels more open, but I shoot for fun and recreation, although sometimes, I am stupidly hard on my self. Spara Dritto
If skeet, stay skeet + skeet or skeet + 1/4. If your plan is sporting, I'd start with 1/4 + 1/2 and go tighter to experiment over time. I started 1/2 + 1/4, then 1/2 + 3/4 then just went to full/full, knowing, if I miss I simply wasn't on the target and to change lead (leed) accordingly Edited December 5, 2011 by Beretta Italy

Guest cookoff013
there is nothing whong with that selection. i`ve shot silly long stuff with 21g shells and cylinder chokes. breaks wasn`t great but it counted. i usually shoot over choked, but left my skeet set in. Flat-Cap
Stick in the two most open chokes. Quarter choke will break pretty much anything.
