Hello everyone,

I thought I ought to say Hi as I have been looking at the site for a little while now. I am a returning shot gunner, having been introduced to the sport in the early 90's drifted away mid to late '90s and got involved with other shooting disciplines. A couple of weeks back a fellow shooter at Kibworth asked me to go round with him and "do some clays" as he had never shot them before but fancied doing so.

Well....DAMN HIS EYES  Now I have had to go and buy another shot gun, as I have now enjoyed it so much I want to get back into it. I nearly bought a lovely 2nd hand Silver pigeon V and I'd tried one or two 2nd hand 28" guns at Kibworth and a 30" Silver Pigeon V but nothing jumped out at me or seemed to say "I'm the one, pick me".

I went to Doveridge today and spoke with Matt. After looking at several guns and despite his best efforts to dissuade me, I bought a 30" Blaser F3. The only trouble is I surrendered my SGC 2yrs ago and although I have a Sec 1 firearm cert I CAN'T HAVE MY NEW SHOTGUN YET!! :(

I am so looking forward to getting my new baby home, but I don't really know why.... can you imagine the ribbing I'm going to get next time I go shooting and my mate, with his Silver Pigeon 1 whipes the floor with me using my new Blaser  Still, I loved the look and feel of the gun, which is half the reason I bought it.

When I get it, I think the first thing I need to do is get a few lessons. I have been reading some threads on this forum and understand that either Carl Bloxham or David Beardsmore would be a good choice.

I live in Daventry, so Barby (15 mins away), Kibworth (40 mins away), Doveridge (1 hr away) are all very doable.

Anyway, enough waffling, thanks for all the advice and interestng info ladies and gents and I hope maybe to meet some of you at a clay ground in future.

All the best

Bob
