Dr_evil
I just spoke to i think it was Matt at Doveridge gun room about the Winchester sx3 and he said they wont stock them as they had one that was broken and browing wouldnt sort it out and replace what was clearly a manufacturing problem under warrenty! but they could get one in at £850. What they sell and stock tends to be Berrettas and Benelli`s ! For me customer service / aftersales is important so if browning are awkward when it comes to this area then i will be staying away from browning products and by default also winchester ! Shame really Browning and Winchester customer service are slightly different ……… Winchester side being pretty useless If your shop stocks Benelli though I'd go for one of them
EdSolomons
Depends what you want it for but if it's clay based beretta every time. If it's pigeons then whatever you can get a deal on!
gemini52
Eric. I have a Browning Fusion which I love, however because of the cold north westerly wind and heavy rain yesterday decided to take my Escort Magnum with me to the clay shoot. Now I know a lot of people don't like these guns but you know I put a mixture of 21s..24s..28s and 32s ....80 in total through this gun and it never missed a beat ....I paid £190 for it and have to say I bloody Love it. You love all your guns think you take them to bed if your misses let you Edited December 5, 2011 by gemini52
gemini52
Have had both, they are great guns, the sx3 comes in a bit lighter to carry will cycle any cartridges but i have allways favoured berettas you wont go wrong with either. ferreter10
I know its not in the title choice and it might spoil the broth, but I would go for a Benelli M2 everytime. i agreee, IMO benellis are the ultimate semi auto. had my monte for 6 months, best gun ive ever had. cycles 21g too
original 45
As yet (unfortunatly ) I dont own any of the above and have only shot a 391 which was spot on to shoot (ie it flattered my shooting ) with 28gr loads, so I carnt really comment on the `whats best` bit and I supose it also depends on what application you want it for. But it is interesting to see how different dealers (like us all) have different views. I was in my local (ish) RFD last week picking up a slab of shells & looking at the SX3 / 391 / Benelli (no Maxus in stock at the time). He told me pretty much the reverse of what salop sniper was told ! ie he had NO problems with SX3`s (and would heartly recommend), Maxus fine too, Beretta 391 (his personal fave) but had had some Benelli probs (dont know what) :o . He also mentioned that Browning (I presume he also meant Winchester as well) customer service was spot on........... So who knows. I guess we must remember there will always be the `odd` problem with any mechanical device ! Eredel - please keep us posted on whatever you choose (and why !) fireboy
i have had both 391 is ok but the sx3 is a so sweet to shoot i have the 3 1/2 inch model and it cycles everything 21gr up to the hevist load i can find put about 3000 rounds through it never had a jam and alot cheaper then the 391 but i think everybody likes what thay shoot best with weather it be a hatsan or a top of the range bennile thay all have there pros and cons just try a few then deciade hope this helps

Paul T
Paul T is it fiber wad in general that it doesnt like ? Sorry for late response.... Nah, it's fine with anything 30g No6, but the 28g Comp X are lower velocity at 1375 than the 21g at 1425. I'm assuming less velocity means less gas and possibly more jams, but I'm just guessing. I'd like to know why though. See Hull's figures here here
silverhawk
I have used them both but still think a benelli m2 is better Edited December 7, 2011 by silverhawk
