JDsniper
Hi all some advice please I am ready to apply for my FAC. I have a new 6 gun deep cabinet got some land. What I want to no is I have just moved my cabinet doI need to inform them What shall I ask for on the application I want to use it for rabbit and fox What quantities of ammo do I ask for And is the game keeper a good person to use as reference Thanks for reading Edited December 5, 2011 by JayDJones
rabbit_stu
Yes, if you have known him for the needed 2 years he would make a great reference. Ammo quantities: buy 500, store 1000 is sensible. Make sure you put in for a moderator as a seperate firearm too. Information given is through research on here and from local FAC holders hope that helps Stuart
Dr_evil
As long as the cabinets secure I'd say you're fine Apply to buy 500 rounds and store 600 You need 2 references not just the 1 like a SGC
blackbird
For rabbit control .22rf or if you only want to control the rabbits & not eat them a .17HMR, as for fox .222, or a .223 would be a good choice as for ammo .22/.17HMR buy 500 hold 600 & cf ammo buy 200 hold 250. artschool
ask for a .50 cal you can always ask for a Hmr if they turn you down. hmr's got better range anyway Edited December 5, 2011 by artschool

Dempy
FOX = 22.250 I dont want to start yet another row with the girls that use a 222 or 223, just take my advice and get a faster, flatter and all round better round! Also, if you are not sure to go .22 or .17 you can always put in for both, it will save you time and money later....

Luckyshot
Ok thanks for that think I going to put down for a .22 lr semi auto ammo buy 500 store 500 .223 bolt action for fox buy 250 store 250 .22 moderator .223 moderator Is this ok for a first app Also you usually want to hold more than you buy say buy 500 hold 600. That way you can buy a brick of 500 rounds without running out of ammo still have 100 left. Cf rounds mainly come in boxes of 20 so I would change that to buy 200 hold 300 or more if range use. Drayman
Plus a separate ammo safe. In Surrey they prefer a separate safe vs. the box within the gun cabinet. Having said that they are happy with a B&Q basic house safe bolted down.
