Tim Kelly
Fancy the idea of a softie shirt. Are they as good as they make out? Warmer than a fleece? What about the zips, I read someone complaining that they snagged all the time on the material. Durability, do they tear if you give them a Paddington Bear stare, or are they reasonably tough? Finally, any recommendations where to buy one?

Georgy
Get a buffalo special six mate, they're great. Only problem I get is if standing around for a long time in the winter you can get cold as their designed to be warm when your moving. If doing hill walking etc they recommend only wearing a base layer beneath it. It should be quite tight so you can pretty much get a shirt and thin jumper underneath but im nice and warm when I use mine! Just after standing around for a while can get cold! My brother uses these in the army and rates them...and he used to have a buffalo jacket (but it wasnt the right size)
chrispti
Pretty much the same design as in post 3, Montane smock. Had mine for about 10 years now. Excellent bit of kit
Tim Kelly
Thanks guys, I'll give one a go. Got to think of something for Christmas!
Clydebuilt
Another vote for the Montane Extreme Pro smock, I prefer it to the Buffalo as it has tougher elbow patches and comes with a hood. Slightly shorter in the length than the Buffalo and the side vent zips are great for taking on/off One of the best cold weather tops of this style I have ever bought bar none. m3vert
I wouldnt go past Montane either! have 3 of their smocks and they are brilliant jackets! work best with nothing on underneath them though. Cant comment on the one you have listed though as never used them, ATB
