marnold
Hi Guys, Thinking of asking for this for xmas: http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/product/124b0e9b379f438496310382/Bushnell+Scout+1000+Rangefinder+Black/ Anyone got one? Do you think it's a good price? Thanks
cooter
The price is OK. My shooting buddy had one and it was (as the advert says) ok out to 300yds but you had to ping larger objects beyond that to get an idea of range and guess the last bit. It was not very good in poor weather, ie rain or a light mist and it never read anything reliably out beyond 600yds. It all depends what you want it for. coyotemaster
My first was a Bushnell and to be fair that was 12 years ago, but it would never read off snow and I wasn't terribly impressed by it. I saved a bit and bought a Leica CRF1200 and am very happy with it. Will do all I want and quickly.
Gimlet
I bought a Leupold RX600 from Sportsman for £201. It doesn't have as many features as the Bushnell but its accurate and good in rain. I've used it next to top end range binos and it agreed with them down to +/- 1 yd. If I could afford it I'd have a Leica because they have an illuminated display. Better still range binos... If only!
wymberley
I've had a cheap and cheerful Hawke for years and as a bog standard shooter - out to 300yds (but the kit performs beyond that) - this has worked well. Unless you're doing something that requires a stretch, these should suit even better. I hope so, my Christmas present is a pair of Legend (Bushnell) binoculars
luckytrigger
I quite like the look of the MTC rangefinder think that will be my next purchase. Had a Leica scan lr200 many years ago but cant justify that sort of money at the moment.
sitsinhedges
Ramsbottoms are doing the bushnell for less. Owned one for years and wouldn't be without it
TaxiDriver
Anyone know if the small Deben/Hawke ones work ok ? It's only for rimfire/fac air distances
