philmc
Does anyone else find these cartridges to leave your gun filthy? I shot a box full today and noticed a lot of the time the primers were black after being shot and left a sooty powder on the firing pins (it's a 12G O/U) Out of the 200 various carts shot today they were the only ones that did that.... Any ideas?
phaedra1106
Apart from being too short to cycle properly they are fine in both my Hatsan Semis and in my Hatsan O/U, put about 60 through the O/U last Sunday and was barely dirty at all. Guest
find them a great cartridge with hardly any recoil and not dirty
HDAV
Got damp?
EdSolomons
Sounds like your pin is puncturing the primer. As long as they break clays well don't worry if they leave a bit of muck!
Spara Dritto
I personally feel, It depends on the barrel of your gun. The Hatsan looks cleaner then it did new after firing 200 comp x in a day. The Silver Pigeon 1 sporter however, looks like you've taken it through world war 2 and back after 50! Saying this, the silver pigeon 1 game was in between and quite easy to clean, the sporter on the other hand, isn't... philmc
Not got Damp, they were a new box of cartridges... I'm thinking that EdSolomons might be right in that the pin is puncturing the primer slightly. They worked and broke clays (when I got the aim right lol) so I dont think I will get overly concerned about them, it's not like I had slabs of them bought. Thanks All :yp:

reddan
find them a great cartridge with hardly any recoil and not dirty I agree. I use fibre wads though which may make a difference. Dan
Mike525steel
I find With the 21 g you get quite a bit of confetti With the fibre wads But still a good cartridge at a great price

Any ideas? I have had the same happen (sooty powder on firing pins) using Hull Comp X 21gram not all of them just a few but the barrels are ok. I kept a couple of used shells and put them up to a bright light but couldnt see any holes in the primers. Strange!
