banger ropes

They don't always take much lighting. I had a string of these hanging in my shed, & I managed to light them accidentally with the sparks from an angle grinder when I was mucking about with some project or other very late one night. Scared the sheet out of me when it went off about 10 mins later, and took me ages to figure out how it might have been set off. :yp:

If I find out who was setting of air bombs at 2am I will stick a rope full right up their **** and light it!

Anyway, on one farm the woodies fly from one group of trees to another every time I approach, with my air rifle. Might give these a try, could stay in one hide and wait for them...... :hmm:

there was a chap round here a good few years ago who had a mate call round his house one day whilst he was out, he had left an upstairs window open and to be funny the mate threw something through the open window thinking someone else would get the blame

the chap sussed who had done it and popped round to have a quick half with the mate before makeing his excuses and popping round to the mates house and leaving a string in the thickest conifer he could find, apparently the neighbours got fairly upset and didnt speak for a few weeks,

hello everybody, does anybody on here use banger ropes when out decoying woodies or crows, if so what are your experiance with them are they worth the time....... and does the string ever go out because i dont fancy walking 600 yards to re light it  cheers for any help

Matt

They are fine in a strong wind; just make sure use a good pole and not close to a foot path!!

I get mine from the farmer as I do my bit for them so I grab a hand full when bump in to them.

Sometimes I text them to leave some in a bag on one of the farms so I can use where I need them.

Just ask the farmer!

Yep useful! I cut the rope in half and if multiple fields are cut at once ill put one on the fields I'm not shooting. Make sure u don't hang them over dry grass etc and tie them on a branch or gate. Watch your kids don't nick then to

Ow I see so you put them where your not shooting.

Supose it saves watching the birds feed away at a distance wishing you had sat up over there ;)

Use them quite a lot there called birdscarer never had a problem I pay 19+ vat for 10x ropes each lasting 6 hrs "12" bangers 30 min intervals work well ok if you place around edges of the land to keep them moving every 30 mins , makesure never to leave them hanging around any dry grass or uncut fields as when they explode they can do a lot of damage ,, trust me 6 acres of stuble went up a couple of yrs ago very scary I was shooting with my back to it by the time I smelt it , it was too far gone...
