Mandel Chokes

I got in touch with them a few months ago to ask them about their production process and for customer references. They were very cagey about production and would only tell me the area where they were produced (Boldon) but nothing about the premises machinery or Quality control. They never did email me any references would you trust them not to damage your gun? I think not

Cheers

Tom

It does not give the impression of being a large, professional set up.

It is only a small point, but they can't spell "extended" - using "extented". They might be excellent engineers and useless at English - just doesn't bode well to me.

They are a bit vague about specification, saying that you will get similar performance as their chokes are similar dimensions. I have seen some in the flesh. The finish is okay, but not a patch on Briley, Teague, Beretta, Kicks, Comp-N-Choke or Browning.

There are enough second-hand, better quality chokes knocking about at similar money.

i bought a 2 cyl set for skeet ages ago, they were ok, very thin, not chunky like the usual suspects. i think they are ok, i bought them for not much.

they will attract rust.

i`ve just now (xmas pressie) replaced both with a briely 2x full set.

i would buy them again in a heartbeat. but i`d replace them after a few years. i`m more than inclined to give them away now as the full do everything and more.

if i was a die hard shooter after above average performance these are not for you.

for the clay shooter who wants a cheap additional set, then they are fine.

if you want cheap. these are available.

i wouldnt buy a set again, just because brieley are so good.

Sadly I have too many already:-

8 x Teagues for my Miroku

8 x Blaser

9 x Beretta Optima

I only ever use 1/4s in the Miroku and 3/8 in Beretta.

Youngest uses 1/4s in the Blaser.

Gordon, it was tongue in cheek following on from your comments. I thought too that a retailer ought to have been able to spell the manufacturer's name of a gun correctly, especially as he's trying to sell parts for them.

What's wrong with the chokes that you already have?

Depending on which gun, some don't have the chokes I want to use others I am thinking of using extended or like on the skeet range may want to use 2 skeet chokes. But after yesturdadys shooting and with the Benelli performing so well might just say forget it and just get a skeet and 3/4 for just that gun and that will do.

For the other guns leave as is, as they have the chokes as supplied with as new, just might of wanted to use say 1/2 choke in both barrels. When listing the chock choices above I covered all angles but not all of which I would buy.

Ok, I am ready for the micky taking :D :D :D

I posted my wish list up of chokes I would like, then relised it would costa packet to fore fill the list. I edited the list to cover basically the chokes I am looking into at the moment for the gun I use the most, which is more relistic and affordable without any complications or frilly bits.

:D :D :D:thanks::D :D :D
