BSA or Weihrauch?? What would you choose and why??

I think BSA's rifles have become poorer quality since Gamo bought them.My dad has got an old BSA Airsporter S and has never had any problems with it.But when i bought a lightning XL the stock cracked and the trigger broke as you may of read in previous posts of mine.I have now got a weihrauch hw80k and have not had any problems, its a great rifle.

So what would you choose?:good:

I would go for Weirauch over BSA every time. Much better build quality much better handling and a zillion times better looking. I think that BSA make the ugliest and the cheapest looking airguns. I have tried many over the years with the exception of the hornet and found them all to be horrible to shoot and most with **** triggers.

IMHO

Try them both if you are able to. Decision should be easy.

Weihrauch i have a hw35k 16yrs old stil going strong excellent trigger.

My BSA Supersport .177 2 yrs old varnish peeling, yesterday it wrecked

a second scope with its sharp recoil.

The trigger has become dodgy, cocked the gun but would not fire,

trigger would move as if gun was not cocked?

Got pellet out and took gun home cocked wth no pellet in it.

Was thinking of buying a Lightning XL but wont buy BSA again

Thinking of a Weihrauch HW95K.

I think you are being a bit Harsh on BSA.

Weihrauch and BSA are in different leagues.

BSA represent excellent value for money.

Weihrauch offer top quality.

I have owned my HW77 k .177 for about 20 years or so.

I bought a BSA Lightning XL .22 earlier this year for rat and feral shooting and can't fault it.

Put a spring rated scope on it and it will serve you fine.

It's a bit like comparing Rover and BMW no contest

Had an AGS 3-9x40 milldot no problems at all.

However I have just put an old Japanese made Apollo on it as it has far superior optics and gathers more light.

You have to accept that full power spring guns will bust scopes occasionally,My Hw77 has munched about 3 or 4 decent quality scopes over the years,so has an old original 45.

I hate to admit it but the current crop of cheap chinese scopes such as AGS/Simmons/Hawke are very good when it comes to spring guns.

I have a BSA .22 Ultra single shot and a weihrauch HWT 100 both superb both do a different job How can you compare? The bsa is a brilliant hunting rifle very small very rugged, yet the weihrauch is the one for staying in one place (big and heavy)and hitting the same 1/2" groups time after time, very difficult to put a favorite against either one. BUT if i had to choose id go for

wait for it

BSA! :good:

Had loads over the years, have a small collection now, one of therm's knocking on a hundred years old and still got quite a punch! Never heard of a hundred year old Weihrauch! have they been going that long?

My only experience of a Weihrauch was a bad one HW80k with a barrel that flopped about so I couldn't hit a barn door with it! It was my mates riffle and he loved it! There again he now owns a VW passat which he loves though he wont admit to the amount of recalls its had or missed costing him a fortune! maybe German rifle owners and car owners are the same? Wont admit they're not really any better?
