captainhastings
Hi if I know pigeon are flighting down a hedge row and I wanted too decoy them. Would the plan be to get them too land in the field or would I be better off setting the decoys near too a tree in the hedge so they land in that. Also would I get away with a couple of full bodied decoys too start ? and any recommended sellers Just seen these on ebay I could stretch too them if they are worth it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-FULL-BODIED-FLOCKED-PIGEON-DECOY-SHOOTING-PEG-FEET-/190545638214?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item2c5d67b346#ht_2196wt_1037 Thanks Terry Edited January 4, 2012 by captainhastings

I put two full body dec out about 10mtrs in the field under the flight path, and stand in the woods, the pigeons see the decs and swing around and land in amoungst the trees.Once we see the prefered trees the birds are using(this depends on wind direction)we will move within range of the trees the pigeons are using. I i should of said, theres alot of oak trees in the wood and the pigeons are looking for the last of the Acorns on the ground. We put the decs near the oaks. Usually go for between the shoulder blades / nape of the neck where , chest shots are ok but try to avoid the crop.
Ratsmasher
I always go for neck with my .177, but used to get away with a carefully placed chest shot with .

bullet boy
I always shoot Woody's in the Chest with my .177 rifle! The smaller calibre is good for Woody's for better penetration!I personally don't go for neck shots just in case their 'Crop' is full of food which not giving a clean kill!
