Gordon R
No - it is a right hander. Bought it as a sporter, but forend was too slim. Bought trap woodwork from Mike (Blaser F3) on here. I liked that a lot better, but never felt comfortable with it. You could adjust the weight and the balance, but the trigger pulls felt odd to me. Hard to say why - I am am used to Browning and Beretta - but they did not suit. My lad liked it. I was planning to get a Gamba from Doveridge and let my lad have my Beretta 682E Gold. He has shot with it and liked it. I bought the Salvinelli and thought I would use that. My youngest then pronounced the Beretta was too heavy - despite him being the strongest person I know. He has now graciously accepted the Salvinelli. What a son. :good:

Gordon R
Mike - very true. I provide the guns, transport, food, drink and shells. The flipside of this is that he lets me clean the guns.

Caisterboy
Wish my Dad would buy me a new gun too - mind you he is 85 so it would be a bit harsh to expect the old boy to on his pension Hi Gordon - nope i haven't - i'm off down to Montrose Guns and Tackle in the morn to take a look at a Daytona - its also only a 30" Sporter and i was considering a change up to a 32" from my Browning but at least i'll find out if it fits. I have pretty much resigned myself to a roadtrip into The North of England in the spring and what you've said about the Monaco on here has got me thinking again of a new one so that i can go through the Pro-fit stocks - must save pennies and not tell the Boss man to stick his job Were Doveridge fair on the deal? - not asking what you got it for but just if you thought they were fair on the deal. Good luck with the Salvinelli from what i can find out on them they seem a mighty fine gun. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to let us know how it goes over the next few weeks - any pics would be nice too Edited January 20, 2012 by Caisterboy
Gordon R
I already have another - but he can buy and sell the pair of us.
Gordon R
Doveridge were okay on trade in. Their mark up is higher than most places I have dealt with. I have had better deals at Bamfords Eccleston and even better at Malmo, who are the best to deal with - in my book.
retromlc
have you considered the Zoli Kronus? a well balanced gun and well made
Gordon R
I had a look at one - quite impressed. The pistol grip was too small for me, but that was the only negative.
Caisterboy
That is a very very nice looking gun Gordon food for thought yet again. Retromic - yes the Kronos has also been on the potential list too but i must admit that the pics Gordon has just posted have stirred the emotions

Gordon R
I would agree with that. I picked a Zoli up in Tim McAvoys - it got stolen the week after - very nice and reasonable money - cheaper than Gamba or Salvinelli. Looked very well made and nicely balanced. It actually felt lighter than it was. The pistol grip was too small - but we are all different. They might make other stocks or it might fit you. I would certainly try one. :good:
