deershooter
After loosing both legs over the lat 4 years I am now back on my feet "well carbon fiber ones" I can now do more thing in the workshop again, after digging out a tub of cut-offs which just had primers in I was not looking forward to de-priming 4500 so decided to make a machine to do it for me, this is air operated all parts obtained of the well known auction site for under £15 the metal work was out of the scrap bin at work. Some will look at it and say that it is dangerous to use, however it has been fully tested until it crushed a primer making it go off on purpose (this was almost imposable). The inlet in to the air ram is controlled by a regulator (which can just bee seen on the top right of the picture)this enables me to control the speed and pressure of the ram which can then be set to just enough pressure to remove the primer. The primers then pass through the base in to a felt lined collection box which is emptied on a regular basis to avoid any problems should one go off. All you have to do is place a cut-off in the shell holder and press the button on the top of the valve on the bottom right when you release the button the press returned to its original position. The next project is a fully air operated press made from scratch I already have the rams . nabbers
an arm to swipe the de-primed cut off into another receptical would be good, plus an auto feed

Floating Chamber
In the 90s, I used a MEC 650 with all except the de-prime rod removed. The cut-offs were placed on the de-prime station, lever pulled; the next and further cut-offs would be placed on the station before it and 'pulled' round to the de-prime position. As the plate reached the re-prime station, the empty cut-off fell through the hole and down a chute into a waste bin. The primers were collected via a chute into a cushioned box below the work-bench. The missus could de-prime a thousand in less than 40 minutes!
