gixer1
With the recent sale of the gixer...I decided the bike shaped hole needed filling...and as much as my head told me "don't do it" I have ended up with this in my garage and am now resisting the urge to have a "carbon frenzy" on eBay... gixer1
Have always avoided duke's to be honest but needed another bike and thought "sod it" if it's a disaster I'll know not to buy another , and it does have a nice rumble even with standard cans...have started pulling it to bits to give it a good scrub and get standard bits and a few modest additions... Has done 214 miles since 2005....
Luckyshot
Very nice always fancied one after having the Jap stuff last bike was a GSXR 1000 k3, but a bad car crash put pay to that idea good luck with the modifications.

mad1
Very nice So does that mean you are changing your user name
gixer1
Not the most reliable then....lol I hope not! To be honest my expectations are low so hopefully it'll be ok, away to do a set of belts on her just as a precaution and check the usual Italian lady complaints... And no - not changing my user name as the gixer's are still the top bike in my eyes. One thing that has annoyed me is that in 5 owners all have had it serviced regular as clockwork bar one who missed couple of services (although they were required due to time not mileage which takes a bit of the sting out I guess..) Actually looking forwards to getting a run on her! Regards, Gixer Edited January 21, 2012 by gixer1
Alex C
They are like anything else, properly looked after and they are as reliable as the next bike. However looking after them properly is a bit more time consuming than on a jap bike. The only exception to this is in the electrical department ! Have fun with it

gixer1
It's the 916cc one not the 996 unfortunately! Think it was just the last few 916sps's that had the 996cc engines.... Don't suppose you've got a set of termi's or marchesini's for sale?? Regards, Gixer
